ApfsForgeMac drives in your Files app

APFS read & write for Android

Your Mac drive, on your phone

Plug in a USB stick, an external SSD or a hard drive your Mac formatted, and it shows up in the Files app you already use. Watch a movie from your Mac backup drive, pull photos off a stick from the office iMac, grab a document a friend saved on their MacBook. ApfsForge adds the drive to Android itself, so your gallery, video player, PDF reader and office apps open files straight from it, with nothing to copy first.

Your files stay yours

Everything happens on your phone, and nothing from your drives ever leaves it. No account, no analytics, no tracking. The app goes online only for Google Play's purchase and rating sheet, and for a feedback message when you choose to send one. Android asks you to allow USB access for each drive.

The details are in the privacy policy.

What you need

Before you start

  • Android 10 or newer with USB OTG (most phones have it), plus an adapter or cable if the drive's plug doesn't fit
  • For microSD cards, a USB card reader; the phone's own card slot isn't used
